Last Friday, the School Councillors at both schools helped to organise and run a very successful day of charity fundraising for the BBC Children in Need appeal. Their amazing fundraising efforts have raised £414 in total from the Federation, with the cake sales raising a whopping £140 towards that total.
A huge thank you to the School Council team for their planning in the lead up and their organisation on the day - collecting in donations, awarding stickers and certificates and running the Infants cake sale too. We also want to say an extra special thank you to Mrs Marsh for baking and decorating hundreds of delicious cakes! Our Junior School Council of Noah (Mr Scott), Harley (Messi), Aria (Greta Thunberg), Teddy (Pudsey), Lily (Wonder Woman) and Oscar (Jack Grealish) awarded Best Dressed Hero Certificates to: Archie C, Addie F, Jack D, William A, Max A, Oliver P, Alfie W, Alice M, Daisy L and Immy S.
At St Thomas' children were dressed yellow and spotty whilst at WHJS the children came as their personal heroes. There were some amazingly well thought out costumes from the Junior children who had clearly thought very carefully about who they admire and who inspires them. Children came as environmental activists, sporting heroes, inspirational women from science and history, NHS staff, Police, dancers, singers, teachers and their parents too. There were some very inspiring stories shared by the children about who their heroes were and why. Here are a selection of some of the great hero outfits we saw on Friday. Well done to everyone who dressed up and helped us to raise so much money for Children in Need.
