Headteacher's Update

I would like to begin by congratulating all our new pupils in Year R, who have made a fantastic start to school life. I have been very impressed by how quickly they have settled-in. They come into school confidently, listening carefully in the classroom and have shown some lovely manners in the dinner hall. Thank you to all the parents and the staff team for all the support they've shown the children in making this big step.

All of the children have now been back a few weeks and are engaged in some really fun learning. Parental support is a vital ingredient of a successful school and I was grateful to all the parents who came along to the recent meet the teacher event to find out about the year ahead. If you missed the event, then you can view the presentation here.

Senior Leaders, Governors and staff are working hard across the Federation to improve the quality of education that we deliver to your children. This work is detailed in our Federation Improvement Plan. Our key priorities for the year include improving the quality of teaching, increasing pupil achievement and developing the impact of leaders across both schools. If you would like to know more, our improvement work is outlined on our website here.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the St. Thomas' PTA Family Fun day on Sunday - do come along and enjoy the activities and support the PTA.
