Headteacher's Update

It has been an amazing week of performances across the Federation. After school on Monday we were treated to a musical extravaganza at the Juniors. We have so many talented musicians in the school and it was wonderful to hear them playing piano, guitar and drums. They were ably assisted by our music teachers, Becky, Greg & Alex as well as our former pupil, on the piano.

On Tuesday and Wednesday St Thomas' Church was filled with the sound of beautiful singing, the sight of amazing costumes as well as some really big acting; as the children performed their Nativity Play to packed audiences. The children did themselves proud! Thank you to our brilliant team of staff for their hard work in putting this production together. Our collection raised £110 for the homeless charity, 'Centrepoint.' We would like to say a huge thank you to St Thomas' Hand bell Ringers who came into school this week to play some Christmas Jingles to the children. They really got us into the 'Christmas Spirit'.

Children from both schools really enjoyed selecting and digging up a Christmas tree to go in each of our halls. We would like to thank Yew Tree Garden Centre for donating our trees as well as all the parents who supported the event.

In the lead up to Christmas we shared a worship together about the period of Advent and explored family traditions at this time of year, including the array of different Advent calendars! This time of year is about spreading love, joy, hope and peace so we challenged the children at St Thomas' to see if they could help with this by taking part in a Kindness Countdown. This came home in book bags, and we hope your child is giving it a go!

Our Poppy Appeal raised £140.71 for the Royal British Legion. Thank you to all of our families who supported this charity. Thanks as well to everyone who recently supported Bags2School. We raised £163 for the Federation.
