Headteacher's Update
Our Year 4 pupils have had a wonderful few days learning and living at the Stubbington Study Centre. If you have not had a chance to catch up with a blog updates from the Centre - please read them here. My thanks to the staff team who accompanied the children on this fantastic learning opportunity.
An important part of our Federation Improvement Plan is to develop the Federation's reputation for excellence in outdoor learning. Our magnificent grounds at the junior school are a wonderful resource and we are determined that children from both the Infants and Junior school will access them. I am delighted that the weather stayed dry for us today and we enjoyed a whole morning of outdoor learning.
You can read all about how the children got on here.
Newbury Foodbank has thanked the Federation for the all of the contributions during our recent Harvest Festival. Donations from our families provided 174 meals.
A reminder to parents not to park on the yellow lines outside the school gates. This blocks the way for other vehicles and is a danger to our children. If you need to speak to a member of staff, please park in a space and come into school.
Have a great half term and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 31st October.
Uniform Reminders
Please remember that after half term all pupils should wear our winter uniform. You can find the details here. Pupils should NOT wear hoodies in PE. Instead pupils will wear their normal uniform jumper over their PE polo shirt.
Water Bottles
It is important that every pupil brings a named drinks bottle to school each day. After half term, we will be unable to provide paper cups for pupils. Please can the children bring in their bottles pre-filled with water. Other drinks such as squash are not permitted.
Sporting Update
Footgolf
The first sporting fixture of this academic year took place at Park House School at the beginning of October with a new event, footgolf. Although many children had never heard of it, our willing team headed off to Park House and took part with enthusiasm and showed great team work in encouraging each other. We are delighted that the team finished in second place and it was great to admire their silver medals in school.
Lacrosse (external club)
Polly, Jemima and Niamh went to their first Phoenix lacrosse match at St. Swithern's School on Saturday the 7th October.
Polly said it was a very good experience and would love to go again. Jemima and Niamh said that they were very nervous but when it started they really enjoyed it.
After the game you get to enjoy match tea and this is where you get to eat a variety of delicious food and drinks.
There is a Saturday training at St. Bart’s from 9.30 to 11.00am outside. On Tuesdays it is at Park House from 6.00pm-7.00pm inside. Although boys are not allowed to play, girls from year 5+ can join.
If you are interested in Phoenix lacrosse please feel free to join!
School Meals
There are new school menus after half term and the picnic lunch option (yellow) will be a jacket potato option, all menu's are on the school website here. If your child has school dinners please remember to top up their lunch account, lunches are £3.00 per day.
