Headteacher's Update

It has been an amazing week of performances across the Federation. After school on Monday we were treated to a musical extravaganza at the Juniors. We have so many talented musicians in the school and it was wonderful to hear them playing piano, guitar and drums. They were ably assisted by our music teachers, Becky, Greg & Alex as well as our former pupil, on the piano.

On Tuesday and Wednesday St Thomas' Church was filled with the sound of beautiful singing, the sight of amazing costumes as well as some really big acting; as the children performed their Nativity Play to packed audiences. The children did themselves proud! Thank you to our brilliant team of staff for their hard work in putting this production together.

Children from both schools really enjoyed selecting and digging up a Christmas tree to go in each of our halls. We would like to thank Yew Tree Garden Centre for donating our trees as well as all the staff & parents who supported the event.

Our Poppy Appeal raised £151.83 for the Royal British Legion. Thank you to all of our families to supported this charity. Thanks as well to everyone who recently supported Bags2School. We raised £163 for the Federation.

Non-Uniform Day at the Junior School

Our Year 6 Ambassadors have been thinking about others in the lead up to Christmas and have been busy organising a special fund-raising day to raise money for the Centre Point homeless charity. Ella, Polly, Oliver and Jack want to help as many homeless families as possible to have a good Christmas Day. The Centre Point charity can support families with this by providing warm beds and a Christmas meal.

The Last day of term (Friday 15th December) will be our Elf-Stravaganza. The Ambassadors invite you to come to school wearing Christmassy clothes in exchange for a donation for the Centre Point charity (£1 minimum donation). They are also organising fun Christmas games over lunchtime with Christmassy prizes (all games are free for those in Christmassy clothes). We hope to see lots of children in their Christmas outfits and that we can raise lots of money for a really worthwhile charity too.

Success for Woolton Hill Junior School

There have been lots of reasons to celebrate recently. We would like to congratulate Ella who has recently performed in a production of The Polar Express on the Swanage Steam Railway. Ella sung on the platform and then acted on the moving train. It is wonderful to celebrate the talents of our pupils.

Well done to our Upper School football team who returned from their league games at Park House School with gold medals! After topping their league they will return to Park House School on Monday to play in the finals. Thanks to the parents that helped with transport and for support and encouragement during the games plus the great photos.

We are so proud of the team for qualifying for the finals and hope they have a great time on Monday.

Good luck to Ben who is doing the Porthcawl Christmas Day swim this year in order to raise money for the neonatal unit in Winchester Hospital. Ben was born 10 weeks early and this is where he was cared for for 7 weeks. This is a fantastic effort for a great cause.

We are always keen to celebrate the successes of our pupils in the newsletter and on social media so please do let us know what your children have been up to.

Water Bottles

It is important that every pupil brings a named drinks bottle to school each day. We are unable to provide paper cups for pupils. Please can the children bring in their bottles pre-filled with water. Other drinks such as squash are not permitted.

After school clubs

With the exception of Tag Rugby after school clubs have now finished for this term, the information to sign up for the Spring Term clubs has been emailed to parents. The final Lower School Tag Rugby session is on Thursday 14th December and will be a fun indoor session.
