Headteacher's Update
It has been an amazing week of performances across the Federation. After school on Monday we were treated to a musical extravaganza at the Juniors. We have so many talented musicians in the school and it was wonderful to hear their piano playing and drumming. They were ably assisted by our drum teacher Alex and a former pupil Thomas Eastwood on the piano.
On Tuesday and Wednesday St Thomas' Church was filled with the sound of beautiful singing, the sight of amazing costumes as well as some really big acting; as the children performed their Nativity Play to packed audiences. Because of events over recent Christmas', this was the first time these children have performed a nativity and they all did us proud. Thank you to our brilliant team of staff for their hard work in putting this production together.
On Thursday evening, the Year 3 and Year 4 children treated us to a superb Christmas carol performance. The performance was very professional, and the children were all confident and seemed to thoroughly enjoy spreading some Christmas cheer and fun! The children had worked exceptionally hard to learn 'by heart' so many songs, with dance moves too! A special mention to those children who were brave enough to also sing a solo. Thank you to all the children, and staff for all their hard work in putting the show together.
Thank you to the Friends of WHJS for serving refreshments at our concerts this week.
Christmas Tree Dig
Children from both schools really enjoyed selecting and digging up a Christmas tree to go in each of our halls. We would like to thank Yew Tree Garden Centre for donating our trees as well as all the parents who supported the event
You can view the photos here.
