Enrichment Opportunities at The Schools of Woolton Hill
All phases of the school have educational day trips and visitors throughout the year to support the curriculum and to enhance their learning. We believe these opportunities are important for all children to take part in as they give them new insights, opportunities to experience different places and deepen and extend their knowledge about a subject.
Our trips and visitors are educational experiences and are linked to learning in Science, History, RE and Geography.
We try to keep trips and visitors affordable for families and can offer financial support for families, especially those who are eligible for Free School Meals. We research well to ensure trips are cost effective and apply for grants and support where we can to reduce the cost for families.
We aim for children to have at least one trip in each cycle of the curriculum but we also make good use of in school visitors and workshops.
Our Friends of Woolton Hill association offer our children amazing support by also funding Arts Week and Book Week visitors and Christmas theatre shows.
Children also experience residential trip experiences in Year 4 (Autumn term - 3 days and 2 nights at Stubbington Study Centre with a focus on the environment and team working) and Year 6 (Summer term - 5 days and 4 nights at Calshot Activity Centre with a focus on adventurous outdoor activities and team working).
